Music Video Draft and Feedback

Our first draft:

After watching the video, members of our target audience said that they liked the green screen parts of the video, and they would like more. So we edited the video to include more footage of Nicole in front of the green screen with the pattern/white background behind her. Furthermore, they said some of the green screen footage appeared quite jumpy and didn't flow into one another well, so we worked to create smoother transitions.

Improved Green Screen Shots

For the improved green screen shots we came up with the idea of having a plain and simple background in black and white which is similar to Beyonce's all the single ladies music video which we took inspiration from. 

Beyonce uses different levels of lighting to create a darker or whiter backgrounds keeping the filter in black and white. 

we used a white background keeping the filter in black and white to conform to the R&B / Hip Hop trend that Beyonce has set with 'All the single ladies' music video 

Re-Shooting

From our draft, we decided that the green screen shots needed re-shooting as there were too many shadows so it didn't look clean enough for our style. 

Footage and editing

Last week thursday we have shot 15 minutes of footage for the music video on the school premises with a friends car, we are currently now in the process of starting to edit the footage along with the sound track. We are also planning to do another shoot in the green screen room, and footage for a specific verse needs filming. 

Location and Costume for Thursday's Filming

For Thursday's filming we have taken some shots of where we are most likely to get filming done. 

The old bus par with the wall is where we will have the car where we intend to film some shots wit the headlights and selfie stick with Nicole in the car. 

Here we intend to do some shots of Nicole behind the fence and possibly playing some basketball. 

 We have the studio for lighting purposes and close ups with lip syncing shots 

 On Thursday for the costume ideas Nicole will be wearing something like this, and there will numerous costume changes throughout filming

Thursday Shooting Plans

On Thursday we will be starting to shoot the music video.

Due to the poor weather conditions in Manchester, we were not able to get all the shots that we wanted outdoors, so we currently have less footage than we had hoped.

We are filming Nicole's lip-syncing scenes; having Nicole standing and dancing in front of a brick wall and lip-syncing/dancing, like Azealia Banks' music video for '212', and the other shot being of Nicole lip-syncing in front of the chain-link fence around the astro turf. We will hopefully have people dancing behind her in mid-shots.

Flawless

We were given the task to recreate part of an existing music video. We chose Beyonce's 'Flawless' for this project.
